Out of My Comfort Zone

I saw on the Rick St. Dennis facebook page that there is a DT call
going on.  I recently discovered how much I love his images.
They are so different and so fun to play with.
So I thought I would give it a try.

They are asking for 2 projects. One cute and one dark
Now dark is far from anything I usually create, but it's good to step out of your
comfort zone and try something new every once in a while, is it not?
Maybe you'll find you really like something you had no idea
you would or could like I did!

Here's what I came up with.

This is my "cute" entry using
Easter Bonnet Bunny

and

my "dark" entry using
Parfum du Mort Skull

Images for both cards were printed on white card stock, colored with
Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut.

I'm really pleased with the way both of these cards turned out.
Now, let's see what else I can come up with.

I am linking up to:
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar - Easter
Fussy and Fancy - Girly
Addicted to Stamps - Make your Mark
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes
Come and Get It - One for the Girls
Pile it On - Easter/Spring
Glitter n Sparkle - Easter

CASE-ing Christmas Challenge #13

So is it just me or is CASE-ing your own card really difficult?

That's right, this week at
the even team is CASE-ing one of my cards.

As a member of the Even Team here's what I came up with.

I used the star and banner as my inspiration for the new card.
And instead of the bling I used in the original, I opted for shiny papers.
The star was cut with an old Sizzix Originals die and embossed
with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, just like in the CASE card.
Instead of highlighting the embossing on the star with ink
I used a metallic gel pen. The papers are from
DCWV's "Sparkling Holiday" Stack as is the sentiment.

Be sure and check out the rest of the Even Team's creations
and come up with your own to share with us at

CASE-ing Christmas Challenge #11

It's Friday and that means a new card to CASE over at
This week the Even Team is CASE-ing this card by
team member Anita.

This is my take.

It's always so interesting to see all the different interpretations
of the CASE card. I used the white wreath and the silver
glitter paper as the main inspiration for my version.

I started by stamping on white card stock and heat embossing
the image. Then I added stickles, using 3 different blues and
diamond. After it all dried I fussy cut and popped on to the
blue, metallic, square die cut which I matted with silver glitter paper.
I punched a silver border and added the silver dazzles sentiment.

How do you interpret Anita's card? Be sure and show us at
CASE-ing Christmas.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Christmas at Sweet Stampin - Blue Christmas

and thought this would be perfect.

the die cut circles. The DP is from DCWV's Birthday Wishes Stack.

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #9

Movie Madness

It's time for another new challenge at
This week create a project inspired by a movie.
We have a fabulous sponsor that provided the DT with our images.

Prize: 4 Images

I chose…
 "My Fair Lady"

Oh my, "My Fair Lady" is one of my all time favorite movies.
And I love the beautiful lace dress Audrey Hepburn wore in the movie
and wanted to try and give the dress and parasol a "lace" effect here.
So I used 2 different embossing folders to do so and paper pieced.
Then I added some stickles.  It took a few tries to get it to the point
where I was somewhat happy with it.
I thought these beautiful Spellbinders die cuts would frame her
perfectly. I used a Darice embossing folder on the white background,
punched the lacey border with a Martha Stewart punch and added
some pearl borders. I thought the tiny rose and feathers added the
perfect touch to the hat.

Now check out what the rest of the DT came up with for your inspiration at
Crafty Gals Corner
and join us for your chance at the great prize offered.
